Burn Permits

“Fire Season”

Effective 4/30/17

We are currently in 2017 Fire Season and burn permits are required BY CAL FIRE. Residents who have a CAL FIRE Burn Permit are advised to check the dates on their Burn Permit to ensure it is still valid. Burning Permits can be obtained at CAL FIRE’s Howard Forest Headquarters (459-7414) 8 A.M. to 5 P.M., or locally by contacting Cal Fire at their Boonville Station at 895-3323.

Burn permits issued by Anderson Valley Fire Department for the “Winter Burning Season” are now expired.

When Cal Fire closes “Fire Season” and “Winter Burn Season” reopens in the Fall of 2017, Anderson Valley FD will start issuing the familiar burn permits for the next season. AVFD issues Mendocino County Air Quality Management District’s (MCAQMD) permits for free during the winter burning season period to in-district properties as a service and convenience for the Anderson Valley community only. You can visit MCAQMD’s website for their complete list of rules and regulations. http://www.co.mendocino.ca.us/aqmd/index.html
